One of the most common questions in construction is: how many bricks or how much cement do I need? This guide helps you estimate materials accurately before starting your project.
Brick Estimation Rule
On average, you need 60–65 bricks per square metre for a standard wall.
Example Calculation
5m × 2.4m wall = 12m² → approx. 720 bricks
Mortar Requirements
Mortar mix: 1 part cement to 4–5 parts sand.
- 1000 bricks ≈ 8–10 bags cement
- 1000 bricks ≈ 1–1.5 tonnes sand
Quick Reference Table
- 500 bricks → 4–5 cement bags
- 1000 bricks → 8–10 cement bags
- 2000 bricks → 16–20 cement bags
Trade Tip
Always order 5–10% extra materials to account for waste and cuts.
